About Our Scopes

You can call us to discuss your order if you feel you need guidance on our options. You can also go to the order page and print off the form, fill it out, and fax or mail it to us.

All of our Kaleidoscopes are made by hand by Mark and Carol.

We use a variety of woods (see options) including natural cherry; bubinga; mahogany; curly, burled, and birdseye maple; padouk; burled walnut; rosewood; and many others as we can get them. You may want to simply specify light, medium or dark when ordering and leave it to us to pick what wood is best.

Our object chambers (see samples) are filled with oil and a variety of materials. Generally, if you are ordering a single scope and it's a side lite, we use mixed glass for the most spectacular effect. If it's an end lite, we use all dichroic glass as it gives the most vibrant color. You may discuss other options with us if you want a different vision.

We have two lighting options: side (meaning the end is blacked out and light should be directed into the side; i.e., fireworks-like) or end (meaning all the light comes through the back and light source should be pointed at; i.e., cathedral window-like) lite.

Boxed Sets include six different oil-filled chambers; gem stones and feathers side lite, mixed glass side lite & end lite, polarized mica end lite, dichroic glass end lite, and sea shells end lite. We do them differently sometimes so if you have specific choices on your sets you should let us know, however, artist's choice is usually the best way to go.
